Musculoskeletal Imaging
RAF’s fellowship-trained musculoskeletal imaging specialists work closely with clinicians in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and rheumatology to optimize the evaluation and management of conditions ranging from athletic injuries to soft-tissue tumors to rheumatoid arthritis.
We offer the full range of standard diagnostic modalities – x-ray, ultrasound, MR and CT – while remaining at the forefront with procedures such as high-resolution CT arthrography, MR arthrography, MR neurography, and ultrasound screening for early arthritis detection. Examinations are read by a musculoskeletal subspecialist with in-depth knowledge of the disease state and treatment.

This ensures that the clinician will receive a report with information most useful for patient management. For non-routine cases, we tailor the protocol to obtain the highest-quality images to ensure accurate diagnosis. By working with the technician and reviewing images during the examination, our subspecialists minimize the need for patient callbacks.
Minimally Invasive Interventions
Minimally-invasive interventional procedures comprise approximately 10% of RAF’s musculoskeletal practice. In addition to performing biopsies of bone and soft-tissue lesions, we have the expertise to inject virtually any joint, tendon, or bursa for diagnostic or treatment purposes, including pain management. Performing image-guided injections across a wide range of challenging anatomical sites and conditions, RAF’s radiologists play an active role in the management of difficult-to-treat patients.
